An out of hours office clearance happens after staff go home or at the weekend, so desks, phones and meeting rooms are back in use the next working morning. For furniture removal in Dubai from an office, the evening slot changes one thing above all: nobody from the business is standing nearby to answer questions. This guide covers what to settle during the day, how the evening itself runs, and how to make sure the office is ready when people walk in the next morning.
What does out of hours mean for an office clearance?
Out of hours means outside the office's own working hours, not overnight. For most offices that is the evening after staff leave, or the weekend, which in Dubai means Saturday and Sunday for many private companies. Our crews work Saturday to Thursday from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM, and Friday from 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM, so an evening clearance has to fit inside those hours.
- Evenings: suited to a few rooms, one department or a single floor that can be cleared in one session.
- Weekends: suited to larger jobs that need a full day, or to buildings that restrict goods-lift use on weekday evenings.
- Several evenings in a row: suited to a whole office that must stay open during the day, cleared zone by zone.
If a building only allows furniture to move later than 10:00 PM, raise it when you ask for a quote rather than assuming it can be arranged. The guide to weekend junk removal covers the household side of weekend timing, and the same booking pressure on Saturdays applies to offices.
Settle building approvals during office hours
Building management offices in many commercial towers keep normal weekday hours. That means every permission an evening clearance needs has to be requested and confirmed while those offices are open, often several working days before the job. An approval that is still pending at 6:00 PM usually cannot be fixed until the next morning.
- Ask building management what written request they need for after-hours furniture removal, and how many days ahead.
- Book the goods lift and the loading bay for the agreed evening or weekend slot.
- Send the crew names and vehicle details to the security desk if the building asks for them.
- Check whether lighting and air conditioning stay on in your office after hours, or must be requested separately.
- Confirm any noise limits, especially in mixed-use buildings with homes or hotel rooms above the office floors.
Towers in Business Bay and DIFC can have quite different rules for the same evening slot, so do not carry one building's arrangements over to another. The broader steps for getting building sign-off are in the guide to building permission for furniture removal.
Prepare the office before staff leave
In a daytime clearance, a crew can ask whether a chair stays or goes. In the evening, the answer has to be on the item already. Do the sorting while staff are still in the building, so each person confirms their own desk.
- Tag every piece that is leaving, and leave anything untagged where it is.
- Ask staff to empty drawers, pedestals and lockers, and to take personal items home.
- Have the IT team release computers, screens and phones, and remove any data-bearing devices that need their own handling, as set out in the guide to office electronics disposal.
- Clear a route from each zone to the goods lift, and keep fire exits free.
- Leave keys for locked cabinets, or confirm in writing that locked units are empty.
For a full office inventory, built workstation by workstation and room by room, follow the method in the guide to office clearance in Dubai. An out of hours job uses the same inventory, with the tags doing the talking once staff have gone.
On the evening of the clearance
Name one contact who will either be on site or answer their phone for the whole session. That person holds access cards and keys, can approve a change if something untagged turns up, and signs off the finished area. Without that contact, any doubt means the item stays behind.

Expect the crew to protect lift walls and corridor corners first, then clear one zone at a time and move pieces straight to the lift. Quiet working matters in some buildings. Dismantling is done with hand tools where possible, and furniture is not dragged along hard floors where residents or hotel guests may hear it.
Make sure the office is ready the next morning
The test of an out of hours clearance is what staff find when they arrive. Walk the cleared zones with the crew at the end of the session, before the lift booking ends.
- Every tagged item has gone, and every untagged item is still in place.
- Corridors, lift lobbies and the loading bay are clear of leftover furniture and packaging.
- Walkways and fire exits inside the office are open.
- Desks that are staying have their cables and screens in order for the morning.
- Anything left behind on purpose is listed, with a reason and a plan for collecting it.
If the work runs across several evenings, repeat this check each night. A half-cleared zone is fine; a corridor blocked with furniture at 8:00 AM is not.
What to include when you ask for a quote
- The inventory, or photos of each zone with the tagged items visible.
- The evenings or weekend days available, and the time the building allows work to finish.
- Goods-lift size, loading-bay rules and any noise limits.
- Whether the job runs in one session or over several evenings.
Ask directly whether evening or weekend timing changes the quote, and get the answer in writing. Prices depend on volume, access and time on site, so a fair comparison needs the same information sent to every company.
An out of hours office clearance is mostly daytime work done in advance. If the building has approved the slot, every leaving item carries a tag and one person can be reached all evening, the clearance itself is the easy part, and the office opens on time.
